Trina Wilkinson is a graduate of Morgan High School and grew up in Morgan County. She obtained her bachelor's degree and teaching endorsement from Utah State University and later earned a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. Mrs. Wilkinson started her teaching career in the South Summit School District, teaching 7th, 8th, and 9th grade English Language Arts. In 2015, she became an instructional coach at Morgan Elementary School, supporting teachers in their efforts to provide high-quality education to each student. She finds it a great honor to be a part of opening children's minds to the joy of learning and helping them reach their full potential.
Now serving as the principal, she is thankful for the committed faculty and staff, supportive parents, and promising students at Morgan Elementary School.
In her free time, she enjoys gardening, reading, baking, and learning new things.
Ms. Martin grew up in California and Arizona. She graduated from Cortez High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and played varsity volleyball, basketball, and softball. She attended Lubbock Christian University on a volleyball scholarship and later completed her bachelor’s degree at Georgia State University. Ms. Martin taught Health and PE for 8 years in Georgia before moving to Utah. In 2007, she began working at Morgan Middle as a Health and PE teacher. During her time at Morgan Middle, she earned two master’s degrees, one in Curriculum & Instruction and another in Educational Leadership. She transferred to the new Mountain Green Middle when it opened in 2019 as a Health and PE teacher. After obtaining an Instructional Coach endorsement, she was hired for that position at Mountain Green Middle until she became the Principal of Mountain Green Elementary at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.
Ms. Martin cherishes her role as Principal and enjoys working with the children and staff every day. She is also a mother of two children, and her favorite role is being a "Granny" to four grandchildren.
Mrs. Morrell's educational journey began at Bingham High School where she was active in volleyball, basketball, and track. She continued her sports career by playing volleyball and basketball at Central Arizona College. She then fulfilled her childhood dream by earning a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Utah. Following this, she obtained her teaching degree from Weber State and commenced her career as an educator.
For 13 years, Mrs. Morrell taught health, physical education, and geography at Wayne Middle School. In 2012, she, her husband Kade, and their four children relocated to Morgan. Over the next 8 years, she taught English, health, and physical education at Morgan High and Morgan Middle. In 2020, she achieved her goal of becoming an assistant principal at MMS after completing her Educational Leadership Degree from Western Governors. Currently, Mrs. Morrell is the principal at Morgan Middle School, which she considers her ultimate career dream job. She expresses her love for her students and admiration for the incredible faculty.
Outside of her professional life, Mrs. Morrell enjoys hiking, hunting, fishing, and all outdoor activities. Her favorite role, however, is being a grandma.
Her motto in life is "Work hard, and play a little harder!"
Mr. Christensen was born and raised in Morgan and graduated from Morgan High in 2003. He has worked in education since 2006, starting as an after-school program teacher at Doxey Elementary in Sunset, UT. After earning his bachelor's degree from Weber State University in 2011, he began teaching at Brockbank Junior High in Magna, UT. While at Brockbank, he coached basketball at the junior high and football at Cyprus High School. In 2015, he returned to Morgan to teach at Morgan Middle School and earned his master's degree from Western Governor's University in 2019. Mr. Christensen taught History at MMS until accepting the Assistant Principal position in 2022.
Mr. Christensen is passionate about sports and has coached football and boys' basketball at Morgan High School. He was part of two state championship teams, one in each sport. He enjoys attending sporting events, especially watching the Atlanta Braves, San Francisco 49ers, and Utah Jazz. In addition to sports, he loves attending concerts of all music genres, with Garth Brooks and New Found Glory being his favorites.
Furthermore, Mr. Christensen loves hiking, fishing, and spending time with his family in the great outdoors. He resides in Morgan with his wife and 5 children and deeply loves his community, which he proudly expresses wherever he goes!
Tyrel Mikesell was appointed Principal of Mountain Green Middle School in December 2018, prior to the opening of MGMS for the 2019-2020 school year. His appointment followed 11 years of service within the Morgan County School District. His career began at Morgan High School, where he served as the EdNet Aide for one year before moving to Morgan Middle School to teach business and keyboarding classes for five years. After his service at MMS, he joined the team at Morgan High School as the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director for five years before the opening of MGMS.
Mr. Mikesell grew up in Henefer, Utah, and attended school in the North Summit School District, graduating from North Summit High School. He received an undergraduate degree in business and marketing education from Weber State University and his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Utah State University in 2014.
Mr. Mikesell believes a collaborative school environment is the key to creating successful teachers and students. He emphasizes that partnerships with parents and community partners are essential to enriching the experience at Mountain Green Middle School.
In his free time, Mr. Mikesell enjoys being at the ballpark, fly fishing, and spending time with his family.
Mr. Long was born and raised in Milton and graduated from Morgan High in 1997. He earned a History and Political Science degree from Utah State University in 2004, where he also played football and received an award for being an outstanding student-athlete.
In 2007, Mr. Long began his career in education in Houston, TX, where he taught high school social studies and coached varsity athletics. He taught courses in history, sociology, psychology, and economics. While in Texas, he earned master’s degrees from Sam Houston State University in Educational Leadership and Lamar University in School Counseling.
In 2018, Mr. Long became a school counselor in the Salt Lake City School District, working for a year at Bryant Middle School. He started working for Morgan County School District the following year and served as the school counselor during Mountain Green Middle School's (MGMS) opening year. Mr. Long has been the Assistant Principal of MGMS since 2020.
Mr. Long enjoys traveling, outdoor recreation, gardening, and spending quality time with his family. He lives in Mountain Green with his wife and two boys and feels grateful to be a member of the close-knit community of Morgan.
Luke Thomas, originally from Vernon, Utah, deeply values his small-town upbringing and has a strong passion for the outdoors and community. Following his time at Tooele High School, where he was involved in student government, basketball, and football, Luke pursued higher education at Utah State University. He obtained a bachelor's degree in political science and history and two Master's degrees: one in Education from Utah State University and another in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University.
With 18 years dedicated to education, Mr. Thomas finds great fulfillment in his role within the Morgan County School District. He is happily married and the proud father of a daughter and three sons. Residing in Morgan, Utah, Luke enjoys spending his free time with his family, engaging in activities such as camping, hunting, and supporting Morgan High School. These pastimes strengthen his bond with Morgan and demonstrate his dedication to its vibrant community.
Mr. Morrell grew up in Loa, Utah, embracing community values and a love for the outdoors. He graduated from Wayne High School, where he played basketball, baseball, track, cross-country, and even wrestled a little! Mr. Morrell received a Bachelor’s degree in science from Weber State University. He continued his academic journey with a Master’s degree in educational leadership from Western Governors University. In 2012, Kade, his wife Michelle, and their 4 kids moved to Morgan. Mr. Morrell taught and coached for 20 years before becoming Assistant Principal/Athletic Director. He loves supporting and being involved in Morgan High School's many activities.
Mr. Morrell loves camping, riding horses, hunting, and all things outdoors.
Mr. Sargent is thrilled to be a part of Morgan High School and Morgan County School District. When he's not on campus, He is in Hoytsville, his hometown, where he attended and graduated from North Summit High School. His educational journey continued at BYU, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with a minor in English. Later, he pursued a Master's Degree in Education at SUU. He enjoys outdoor activities and being active, such as playing golf, exploring the mountains, traveling with his family, or taking care of tasks around his yard or farm. He is a big sports fan and loves cheering on his favorite teams, even though they almost always let him down. He is happily married and has a son and a daughter.
